Thankfully, Apple makes it pretty easy to check your warranty status online. There’s no need to call the company or try and communicate via chat. Instead, you can just head to Apple’s “Check Coverage” webpage for all of your device’s details.

Once you’re on the “Check Coverage” page, you simply enter your device’s serial number. Once you do that, you’ll have to enter the security check code to prove you’re not a robot, but then you’re on your way to getting your device repaired.
Once you’ve entered your serial number and the security code, Apple will detail your device’s warranty coverage. There are four parts:
- Eligible for an AppleCare product – This indicates whether or not you can purchase the extensive and broader AppleCare+ coverage. You generally have 60 days after you purchase your device to add this coverage.
- Valid Purchase Date – This indicates that Apple has a valid purchase date for your device on file, which makes service and general communication with the company easier.
- Telephone Technical Support – All Apple products get 90 days of telephone support. This tells you if you are still in that window or not.
- Repairs and Service Coverage – This indicates if your product is covered for eligible hardware repairs and service under Apple’s Limited Warranty.

If your Mac is not working, the serial number is printed on the computer casing but the location varies. Here are the main locations of serial numbers on Apple computers. Apple’s one-year hardware warranty can be a lifesaver in certain situations, but it’s important to remember that it doesn’t cover accidental damage such as screen cracks and water damage.
